  I studied English philology and translation at the University of the Basque Country, Spain, and I hold a Ph.D. from the same university with a dissertation on the figure of the hero in children literature (2007). I am actually working at the Public University of Navarre and UNED (Pamplona).

  I have contributed with several essays and articles on children literature and film criticism in South America, Spain and Portugal, and I have published a full-length study on the role of children as hero in children literature titled El niño como héroe en la literatura infantile fantástica. Desde The Chronicles of Narnia de CS Lewis hasta los postulados del Espantapájaros (University of the Basque Country, 2009).

  My current research is focused on literature-teaching methodologies, and the role of children in fantasy literature. I am a teacher of English Language, 20^th C. British Literature, Teaching Methodology and British History and Culture.

  Furthermore, I have co-designed the entire curricular plan and the teaching materials for The Scarecrow Project, an educational programme for teaching literature in Secondary and University levels, in both English and Spanish. The project is based on an active use of the Internet for research and learning, and it is currently being tested at a number of schools, colleges and universities. (www.proyectoespantapajaros.com)

  Following a life-long interest in creative writing, I am going to publish The Explorer of the Chest, (simultaneously published in Spanish as El explorador del baúl, PortalEditions, November 2010) and I have just published the first part in a series of five books, titled Golgrim’s Keys (simultaneously published in Spanish as Las llaves de Golgrim and Basque as Golgrimen Giltzak, PortalEditions, 2009). The rest of the books in the series will be published 2011-2014.
